Robert Hartman

Associate Warden
Robert Hartman, Associate Warden at Northern Nevada Correctional Center, started his career in Corrections while serving in the United States Marine Corps from 1994-1998. As a “chaser” for nearly three years, he escorted Marines who had been accused of crimes to/from court and other appointments outside the Brig. After his enlistment with the USMC had concluded in 2001, Hartman started his career with the Nevada Department of Corrections.
He began as a correctional officer trainee at Northern Nevada Correctional Center and worked his way through the custody the ranks up to lieutenant in 2011. In June 2013, he transferred to the Stewart Conservation Camp to fill the role as camp manager. During that time, he led the overall operations of a facility that had 15 staff members, 360 inmates and arguably the most complex caseload of any Camp with the NDOC. The Stewart Camp houses minimum security inmates as well as community trustees and these inmates are assigned jobs throughout Northern Nevada while assisting other state and local agencies. In May 2019, he was promoted to associate warden at NNCC where he’s begun to implement positive changes in the safety and security for both staff and inmates.
