      Historical

      Located in Elko County, the Carlin Conservation Camp was constructed in 1987. The Carlin Conservation Camp houses 150 minimum custody inmates for the state of Nevada. Inmates at the Carlin Conservation Camp work for the Nevada Division of Forestry completing conservation projects, roadside clean up, local area assistance and fire fighting during the fire
      season.

        Staffing

        The Carlin Conservation Camp employs 13 state workers:
            1 Correctional Lieutenant
            1 Correctional Sergeant
            1 Senior Correctional Officer
            1 Correctional Caseworker
            8 Correctional Officers
            1 Storekeeper

          Capacity

          The Carlin Conservation Camp houses 150 minimum custody inmates.

            Programs: Vocational Training, Educational Opportunities, and Treatment Services

            Carlin Camp coordinates with the Nevada Division of Forestry (NDF) in training of inmates to work on fire fighting crews during fire season. These crews do community clean up and snow removal services during the off season. Carlin also offers a wide range of programs for all of the inmate population and an opportunity to enroll in educational classes in pursuit of a GED, and high school diploma.
